At the last wedding I went to, we were given jars of homemade jam that the bride's mom made. They were a great gift! I like gifts that are edible for sure. Anything else usually gets thrown away.

The last wedding I attending at little boxes with Hershey Kisses in them. I think a wedding favor should include something the guests can take home with them to remember the bride and groom's special day, even if it's just a candy wrapper with their names on it. I wish they would have had something for us to take home to remember their special day.

The last wedding favour I received was a "take out" box of bath confetti. It was nice for me, but I don't think the men were big on it.

M&M's with the couple's name. One thinks that they are a great and affordable gift, but after receiving these at every single wedding, the novelty quickly dies down. If its going to be M&M's at least make it peanut M&Ms!!

The last wedding I went to took place in San Francisco, where the groom was born and raised. Some people ended up taking the table decorations home (picture frames with the bride and/or groom & table guests throughout the years). Everyone received a small gold organza bag with 2 Ferro Roche and a stamped penny from those machines around the city. It was a cute gift that was a lot more personal with the stamped SF penny. The bride and groom told us later, they had to get a lot of coins and run around the city to get all the pennies for their favors.

The last wedding that I attended had 2 favors. The first was that our escort cards were tied to little saplings for us to bring home and plant. It was a cute idea, but my fiance and I live in an apartment, so we either have to dig them up later or leave them behind. Also, it was a bit awkward to carry little trees around for the rest of the night... they would have been better left to give out on the way out. The second favor was a giant, and I do mean GIANT gummy bear at each guest's setting. I thought it was a bit tacky, especially since they had this beautiful fall-themed decor. It just didn't fit. I guess the bride or groom really loves gummy bears, but neither my fiance nor I knew that before. Even if you like gummy bears, there is no way you would have eaten this thing... it was like 2 lbs and at least 3,000 calories. The night ended w/ the groom and other men (my fiance included) attempting to see if the gummy bears would light on fire out in the parking lot. I would not suggest this as a wedding favor. Also, there were tons left over at the brunch the next morning... I guess I wasn't the only one who decided to forgo the 3,000 calorie gummy bear!
