My husband and I put most of the wedding together ourselves, and we loved how customized and personalized it was that way. Our biggest inspiration was looking at the talents of our friends and finding places to use those talents. One talented friend made my dress, the bridesmaids' dresses, and all of our jewelry. Another made our cakes. Another made cookies that were served at the reception. Others played the music that my husband wrote. Friends from church made our wedding time capsule, my husband made our cake topper (out of LEGOs!), his dad put together a slideshow, his mom made our centerpieces, we made our own save-the-date magnets, our own scroll invitations, and all our parents provided their unity candles for a very customized unity candle ceremony. If you are interested in some of these, feel free to visit our website (www.whenisthewedding.com), and look at the customizations page and the resources page. We hope to add more how-tos to the resources page soon.

I have found a lot of great tutorials and DIY inspiration from all the great wedding bloggers out there. There are so many creative young women sharing their successes and also their trials and errors. Te Martha Stewart book is an awesome craft book, its like the crafters bible!

And thanks for the lead on Flickr, showed me how I can use it in a totally new way.

I use Flickr for inspiration too! There are so many many wedding photos on there. I searched for "gerbera" and "mason jar" and found great centerpiece ideas.

I love to find inspiration on the internet and magazines. Some of my favorites websites are Style Me Pretty and Vintage Glam. I also like Snippet & Ink.
