Why did you have an intimate wedding?
This was far away for most people, so it was mainly just friends at the beach wedding. We had another wedding in England earlier on that included our relatives.
What are some of the challenges that you faced planning an intimate wedding?
The time difference and other challenges of having a wedding on an island. For example, we couldn’t get any wedding sparklers in because fireworks aren’t allowed on planes. They had to be bought in-land or by someone who was driving there.
Was it difficult to pare down the guest list?
Not really.
Did you have any ‘issues’ with the small guest list from friends and family? If so, how did you address them?
There were none.
What were the highlights of the ceremony?
The amazing weather, cool breeze (after continuous days of sporadic rain), Magnetic Man’s soundtrack playing in the background and the beautiful surroundings. It was like being on the set of a movie! Not being a very emotional person, I cried when saying my vows!
What were the highlights of the reception?
The emotional speeches; Paul’s Lego wedding name cards/favors; the dancing.
What was the best thing about having an intimate wedding?
It was more manageable. It reduced cost and we were able to create DIY wedding pieces.
What advice do you have for couples who are considering an intimate wedding?
Do it! You will really be able to talk to everyone, soak in the day better and get friends on board to help out so that it’s a shared experience.

What a fabulous setting for a beach wedding! Love the flowered arch, and the baskets of favors and parasols. And the guests seemed to have had a great time dancing!
The photographers did a great job capturing all the beautiful moments...and of curse the intimacy of the wedding...so beautiful!
