Snuggling deep into the sofa with dinner and wine to watch our favorite TV shows, tucking our toes underneath each other, and making room for the dog in the middle. That’s romance to me.
Dinner at home and a good bottle of wine (or two) with my man. He’s a chef, so there’s nothing better than eating in!
my guy and I found these ancient records (pressed in 1915) of classical piano sonatas… he played them on his old turntable for me and took me in his arms… and we just danced.
I think the best, most romantic moments with my fiance are the ones that arent expected. Like driving around, getting lost and finding our way back home again- with Andrew as the captain and me as the first mate. Or finding the perfect spot to build our home together (one day). Or the Tuesday night he proposed to me after a long day at work over a dinner he cooked that was just a little too salty. These are the moments I live for.
There are so many things my fiancé does that I consider romantic! I think the most romantic thing someone can do is to make sure that their partner knows every single day how much they care about them. If you love someone, you should be 110% sure that they feel your love each and every day. Should something ever happen to you or them, you should never have to wish that you would have told them how you felt. That’s exactly what my fiancé does! My fiancé will leave little notes hidden all around my room when he comes to visit me. Some of these notes are nothing more than “I adore you” written and placed in my day planner on random days. Others are more extensive and elaborate on exactly what he loves about me. But each note is randomly hidden and an amazingly uplifting surprise every time I find one! I don’t doubt for one second that my fiancé loves me with everything he has, and I wouldn’t change a thing!
I love the little details – notes from my fiance, making me my favorite kind of bread, and rubbing my neck for me when it’s tense.
My fiance speaks spanish from living in mexico for two years. there’s is the band that sings the most romantics songs ever! i don’t speak nor understand spanish. the most romantic moments for me is when he sings this particular song called “Todo Cambio” by Camila. It means “Everything Changed”. Sometimes he’ll translate the lyrics and I almost want to cry because they’re so beautiful! Even though the song is in spanish and i can’t really understand the words i know the meaning. LOVE! it is unexpected. it is wonderful! and it changes everything in life (for the better of course!)
My Hubby is does the sweetest little things that are so romantic. When he was on vacation, he would wake up every morning and make me breakfast in bed before I had to go to work. Some mornings he would leave the sweetest notes in my purse for me to find later in the day!
I find driving through the Lincoln Tunnel with my fiance so incredibly romantic. We always seem to have a perfect song playing during those 4 or so minutes (of course, this is when we aren’t in traffic).
I love it.
cooking together or cooking for each other! yum!
Ok I must confess! I think i have the most romantic valentine’s day tradition with my fiancee. We aren’t into the “commercial” element of the holiday, but are all about sharing experiences together – which is why this tradition, stemmed from our 2 month anniversary of our first date (and our first Valentines together!)….
We share a milkshake. Since meeting, we’ve never have experienced a valentines day in the same city twice – but we always find time to take a time out, and honor this tradition. Sounds simple, but every year, reminds us how just the simple things can mean so much – and sharing the simple things together is what makes us smile.
Joseph isn’t really the romantic type, but he knows that I am. He sets up random appointments on his phone to get me flowers and has little sticky notes on his desk (I caught a glimpse the last time I was in his officer) reminding him to “show” me how much he loves me “every day.” I don’t chide him about this kind of stuff, he just does it on his own… which means so much to me.
The most romantic experience I had with my fiance was when he came home from a deployment in Iraq. He had been gone for 7 months and was only home for 2 weeks of leave, and then he had to go back for 5 more months. We met in the Atlanta airport at the USO booth right outside of arrivals (where all the soldiers on the East Coast come through) and I saw him come up the escalator and turn the other direction! So I yelled out his name and he turned around ran up to me and picked me up in a hug that seemed like it went on for hours. We kissed and we cried, we made other people cry. It was so good to have him home even if it was for a short while. We flew home to Baltimore and he ended up proposing while he was on that leave. It’s an experience I’ll never forget.
ohhh i love those!! perfect for valentines day!
of course i thought it was so romantic when he proposed. we were up in the mountains at his ski resort condo with his family. he asked me to go on a walk with him. so we explored the hotel for awhile, then he told me he wanted to take me to our favorite spot. so we walked outside in the snow, and looked at the mountain surrounding us. finally he told me to ask him why this was our favorite spot. when i did, he said because this is where i asked you to marry me, and got down on one knee…
!
I love your site and I love these cards!
It’s the small unexpected moments that I find romantic…the moments we laugh out loud at each other because we can find the humor in almost anything together.
We’re long distance, and I’m in graduate school. In my first semsester I was really stressed out and wondering if I had made the right decision to go back to school. The next day he called me at work to tell me I had an appointment that weekend for a massage and was to spend the day relaxing and being pampered at the spa, since he wasn’t here to do it himself. It was what I needed to put me back on track and I still can’t repay him for being so thoughtful and amazing.
eskimo kisses are the most romantic.
for my birthday last year, my hubby-to-be took the day off school and spent the entire day preparing the apartment. i got home to see a sign hanging from the ceiling “start here” – he had set up a mini scavenger hunt. along the way were more clues, along with handmade cards, detailing his love for me, and telling me that all he has for me is love and support and even though we don’t have many luxuries now (i’m working to support both of us while he goes to law school), someday we’ll have more and a house for our own. i fell in love all over again..
Romantic. I think it’s romantic that when we sit down next to each other, he helps me up. I think it’s romantic that he tells me he loves me, every morning, and every evening, even if I’m already asleep. i think it’s romantic that he props open the door so I don’t have to fumble with my keys when I get home…
that’s romance.
You are on my friends list with FB now!
As for romantic: My fiance sets up blankets and pillows for us to lay on the back of his flat bed truck and snuggle while we look at the stars and chat until we fall asleep—not in the dead of winter of course! The first time he did this was the evening after we had annonced to our family we were getting married. I can’t wait for spring to get here so we can start doing this more often!
I find the way my husband interacts with our children romantic. I love the sweet Daddy moments- when he comes home from work and both boys go running and the way he scoops them up and smothers them with hugs and kisses and brings home special treats for them from work. It melts my heart each and every day.
I consider myself a very lucky girl, my fiance does all sorts of wonderful and romantic things for me. But, I’d have to say the most (unconventional) romantic thing he does is look at endless wedding photos and ideas with me. My mother has always despised weddings, so this whole wedding planning thing is new to me. While she is excited for my wedding, she is not helping at all with the prep. He listens to all of my ideas, hours on end and seems to never tire of it. I adore him.
My husband is wonderful to me but I have to say some of the most romantic things he does for me is support me as I grow my business, listen to me when I need to vent and can make me laugh in the mundane things
He’s so sweet to me
Yesterday I was fighting some kind of stomach bug and my fiance came to my rescue. I won’t go into gory details, but he definately went beyond the call of duty. Someone who will hold your hair, check your temp, bring you gatorade when you need it AND still want to kiss you is my romantic hero
xoxo
The most romantic thing Jason did was take me to see Sex and the City the movie. He was the only guy in the audience, but we had a great time!
a walk in the forest.. definitely!
very sleeping beauty if you ask me!
I love it when my fiance surprises me with dinner reservations to my favorite restaurant just because or brings home a slice of my favorite cake to share after dinner.
great giveaway! the most romantic way to spend time with my fiance is a long, relaxing day lying around on the beach.
