What’s the latest wedding food craze in L.A.? French fries.
You can read all about it in this New York Times article, which discusses the trend towards more casual weddings. Interestingly, as the article points out, many affluent brides feel an over-the-top event is tacky and even offensive in these tough economic times, so they opt for a more casual affair (what’s more casual than French fries?). Thing is, they often spend as much money (sometimes more) trying to make their weddings look homegrown and low-key.
I’m all for the fries though. With salt and malt vinegar of course.
As the event specialist quoted in the New York Times said:
“There is nobody who won’t grab a French fry.”

I love this trend! I work for a catering company and we have been seeing more home made cakes and lots of BBQ menus at our weddings! Last one was ribs and BBQ chicken and was delish!
We ABSOLUTELY love this idea. What's not to love about french fries :)
Hmmm...this is the first time that I don't find an IW post appealing. Well, maybe the 2nd time, if there's a post on wearing Converse shoes on your wedding day floating around somewhere.
Hmm... I would wonder if the fries would cool off too quickly sitting out waiting for people. There's nothing worse than cold french fries!
Kasey, I wondered the same thing. The solution? A fry truck:)
Love the mini cones of fries - especially paired with sliders!
Thanks for the inspiration!! We loved this idea so much that we used it in our wedding. We served sliders and fries to our guests at the end of the night. It was a huge hit!!
Yum!
