Spend $30,000 on your wedding and you’ll be considered a ‘frugal’ and ‘budget concious’ bride by mainstream media. Don’t believe me? Read it for yourself.
I need a drink. A cheap $9 chocolate martini would suffice. I’m on a budget.

WTF? No way “frugal” means $30,000. What planet are they on?
That is crazy- $30K is a house downpayment! If that is what you can afford to spend, then more power to you, but don’t dare call that frugal!
$30K is not frugal, lol. That is slightly a bit above the average cost in most communities, even. Wow, that woman (and MSNB) must have lost touch with reality a long time ago.
This makes my head hurt. From the start of my wedding planning, I have said that definition of the word “budget wedding” is not universal. My budget is definitely NOT this woman’s budget.
My wedding is costing a little over $4,000 and it is more than I ever dreamed of! My dress is amazing, the venue makes my heart flutter even if I didn’t have a budget, we are having 150 guest, open bar, full meal, and a live steel pan player for the ceremony.
We got very lucky! I thought we were doing into this alone. I was wrong! You honestly never know which second cousin twice removed is a professional baker or owns 150 white chairs.
Sounds like you’re very resourceful! Congrats on the budget wedding!!
