Whether it is in a parking lot late at night with the car stereo blaring, or at home with candles and wine, dancing alone is a fun, intimate reminder of how much we love each other.
My fiance-then-boyfriend used to bring me tiny baby cupcakes whenever I was at work and he wasn’t. Later I was having a macaron phase instead- so he brought those! Little stuff like that is why I’m marrying him
I love when I come home from work/yoga, my fiance opens the door for me (as I usually have a ton of bags in my hands) and he stands in the door with our baby kitten, Jenny in his hands and greets me with a kiss (our little family). It just makes everything that happened in the day completely disappear. I never thought that another house would feel like home, aside from the house I grew up in with my parents, but now I know that this is my home forever. I wish that same feeling of love and home for everyone.
I know it might not be super romantic, but something that is very meaningful to me is that right before both of us fall asleep, my husband will lean over, kiss me on the mouth and tell me that he loves me. We are newlyweds, so I hope dearly that this tradition continues.
The most romantic day I ever had was when my fiance asked me to marry him the first thing in the morning, took me on a picnic in the park where we sat by ourselves on the grass and talked and then went dancing and celebrating for the rest of the night with our friends. It was pretty much an amazing day.
My fiance just sent me a box of goodies… daily Valentine’s Day gifts! Patterned after the Christmas song, it goes, “On the first day of Valentine’s my true love gave to me…” and I can only open a specified one each day. We’re long distance and he’s been very busy, but I love how he took the time to think about it, buy the stuff, wrap the stuff, and send it to me!
Finding sweetness in the most mundane of things is romantic. For me & my honey, cooking is one of our favorite ways to spend time together. Even in our small kitchen, we seem to have developed this little dance where everything is seamless, and we’re chopping, sauteing, grabbing things out of the fridge & cabinet, drinking wine, laughing & talking with total ease.
Most recently a specific example of a romantic thing he did was when I came home from work and there were candles lit, music on, wine poured, and a plate of cut bread & cheese waiting for me. All of that… was to set the mood to make our chore of folding the mountain of laundry nearby a little more enjoyable.
Silly things are the most romantic to me! My fiance frequently starts snowballs fights–even in the very hour he proposed. We love to laugh together as much as we can, no matter the circumstances.
I get just giddy when I get out of the shower and there is a sweet little “I love you” written in steam on the mirror. ah, swoon! It’s those little things that make romance.
Romance = a simple picture emailed to me whenever I’m away on a long business trip. It could be of our house, yard, be funny, serious, whatever to show he misses me… Usually there’s only a short caption attached, but it’s always so powerful!
My husband-to-be wrote ‘Will You Marry Me’ in the snow before going down on one knee. He then gave me a large rock saying it represented the other large rock he was going to buy me for a ring!
The most romantic thing that has ever happened to us…
One random night, my boyfriend and I were going to the same place for different reasons at different times. While there, I thought it’d be super cute to leave a note on his car addressed to “punkin” (a nickname we have for each other) and signing it as “your secret admirer.” On the way out, giddy with excitement and almost skipping to find his car in the large parking lot, my eye caught attention to a funny looking huge fake nylon flower on the windshield. I guess someone else thought it’d be cute to do the same for her boyfriend! Hehe, I thought. As I continuing walking by, I peered over and in the light, had not noticed earlier…that this was indeed my boyfriend’s car! Immediately, I thought who left that for him?! Upon walking closer, I saw a note tucked under the flower that boldly read “PUNKIN!” Turns out, he had the same idea, but couldn’t find my car in the big parking lot, so left it on his own car, hoping I would see it when I came out of the building. Great minds think alike! Even when it comes to romantic moments. Hehe
Brandon and I love to make dinner together. A couple nights we’ve taken off from homework for a bit and went grocery shopping together. We’ll come back to campus to make dinner. This way we get a little time away from the chaos of college to enjoy each other
I travel for work each week and don’t return home until Thursday evenings. One of the most romantic things he has ever done for me was waiting by the baggage claim with the other car drivers. While the other drivers had signs that said “Mr. Smith” or “Tom Jones” to flag down their passengers his sign read “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World”… I am so lucky!
Ok, this one is easy for me to answer… Most romantic thing my fiance has ever done – propose! Read it here:

I’m a FB Fan Carol P Dziuba Romance to me is when my husband shaves at night so he can be sure to be smooth so he can kiss me.
The most romantic thing my fiance has done for me is to write me a letter everyday I was gone abroad.
I think cooking with my fiance is so romantic. We open a bottle of wine and take turns as “head chef,” helping each other out as the “sous chef.” We always taste our creations as we go and pause to dance around the kitchen to celebrate our successes.
While he does many romantic things, one of the most romantic happened on a winter evening a few years ago. I got stuck in a snow storm on a highway for six hours. He had cooked dinner and waited those six hours until I got home (long after midnight) to eat with me. It was so sweet after such a frustrating evening.
my fiance and I love to watch HGTV together and plan what our first place together is going to be like. We could watch for hours and just think about our future together, its become sort of a ritual for us but it still hasnt lost any of its romance
To me, it’s the small things that have become the most romantic. Having been long-distance (San Francisco to London!) for the past 3 years, my boyfriend and I have come to appreciate the little time we get to spend together on visits here and there. Things like going to the corner coffee shop to read the paper, watching dogs in the park, and even battling the Chinatown crowds for some street food on a Saturday have all become moments we cherish. He will be moving back to San Francisco this spring and I know that we will have a much greater appreciation for the little things because of our distance.
*Also, just have to say i LOVE this giveaway! amazing:)
It was actually two days ago! My fiance sent me a bouquet of flowers with a note saying that it doesn’t have to be a holiday to get me something, this is just for because. He is deployed right now and it was such a surprise when the flowers came. I’m a lucky girl :]
Dancing in the kitchen after a lovely dinner and a glass or two of wine is so romantic. I love the way we hold each other close and dance to some really unusual songs (Talking Heads?) It always brings us closer.
My fiance and I have been in a long distance relationship for almost two years (and we are one month till the end!!). We write letters back and forth and spend time on Skype. He writes me the most romantic letters and we have sweet ice cream dates on the webcam!
On my birthday last year I woke up to a 20 piece scavenger hunt through out our apartment(for I was turning 20). Each point had a clue to the next as well as a picture from our road trip to salvation mountain in california that we’d taken just a week earlier. And on the back of each picture he wrote a reason why he loved me. Finally it ended at a box that he had made for me that was covered in pictures of our trips. The inside was lined with fabric and had a map that showed the path we took. He made me the box to hold all of the notes that he leaves on our bed side for me each morning so I can wake up to it while he is away at work.
My fiance is amazing, I am so blessed. :]
It sounds crazy but I love the smell of freshly washed laundry. My fiance would do the laundry (yes! that’s amazing already!) and he would take the warm, clean-smelling clothes out of the dryer and dump them on me while was was lying in bed. To me, it’s romantic.
Cross country skiing together through the forest in gently falling snow. Turning around and seeing his dark hair and eyelashes covered with shining flakes of brilliant white.
(We live in Minnesota.)
My fiance and I both love thunderstorms. Our perfect romantic night would be getting into a comfortable pair of pjs… opening a bottle of wine… and curling up on the couch together watching a movie and just listening to the tapping of the rain on the windows.
I would love a home cooked meal with my hubby and just a chance to relax.
My main squeeze and I love laying on the couch together listening to “This American Life” on the radio.
I think it’s romantic when I’m walking with my husband and he holds my hand, or when he surprises me with flowers.

For me a perfectly romantic evening would be sitting around a campfire drinking wine with my hunny!
Dinner over looking the ocean….not original but works every time!
Going to a playground with my husband–We swing and slide and play like kids.
I love it when my fiance sweeps me off my feet with a spur of the moment dance session in our kitchen to one of our favorites, “Sweet Thing” by Van Morrison. It’s these little moments that I find so completely romantic!
The most romantic thing my FI and I do is when we get to cook together. We live very far away most of the time, so when we are in the same place theres nothing better than getting to craft and eat a meal together.
Reading linesof a book together in his arms and talking about it.
I love it when my partner and I start dancing Salsa when a Latin song come on the radio. Reminds me of our trip to Mexico when we first started thinking about our wedding.
I love the little things like when he gets up on his days off to clean the snow off my car for me before I leave for work. I know he loves me then because he really values his sleep
My love dances with me every night. I stand on his feet and we sway to our inner song. This to me is the most romantic thing.
He is careful not to wake me when he gets up on Saturday mornings and brings me breakfast in bed whenever I have had a long week at school. He makes the best scrambled eggs in, quite honestly, the world.
Leaving little notes for each other to find
Riding in my fiance’s hot rod up the coast and stopping off at the beach to have a picnic and watch the sunset.
It’s the little things every day, like cleaning the dishes or making breakfast. And I know he loves me when he gets up at 2:00 am to put my car in the garage when it starts snowing so I wont have to brush it off in the morning
A surprise evening hike with a yummy picnic, beautiful view, and perfect company!
My quirky romantic notions: Grocery shopping together for our favorite foods and then cooking a fabulous dinner together to enjoy with a bottle of our fave wine. Mmmmm…
by far, the most romantic thing my fiance has done for me was always just thinking 2 steps ahead of me. almost all the time. lol. when he proposed to me last december, he told me my parents loved the ring (he gave me his mom’s engagement ring).. i was pleasantly surprised!… he had talked to my parents a few weeks before proposing and asked for their permission.
my fiance and i can’t begin a meal without a little kiss first. i think it’s extremely romantic when he forgets that we had our kiss and goes back for a second before digging in to his meal, it makes me feel closer to him all the time.
he’s not traditionally romantic. the closest was when he filled our teeny apartment with tea lights to propose.
the most romantic thing? for me it’s being both on the couch- facing each other on opposite ends. both under the same blanket reading. we go from talking, to rubbing feets, to reading aloud to each other. then one of us moves to the other and we have a good cuddle.
Barbeque-ing steaks or burgers together outside in cold weather with the camera in tow while sipping on some wine. Having music on while we are making dinner together.
I am from America, but my fiance is from New Zealand. He has quite an adventurous spirit, like mine. From the very beginning of our relationship, we have always sought out adventures together.
One of our favorite things to do is finding lakes or rivers or streams to jump into. We find the highest rock or tree to jump off, and we take the plunge!
Our favorite spot is back in New Zealand at a place called Swan Beach. It is a beautiful cove tucked away in my fiance’s small hometown. It has the perfect tree to jump into the ocean from. There’s even a rope swing!
I love finding adventures together. I think it’s the most romantic thing!
