Today’s breathtaking styled shoot was inspired by the photographer’s Greek background. Athena Feldshon, from Empiria Studios, says she wanted to create a shoot that highlighted the nuances of Greek culture.

“There are so many deep-rooted traditions in Greek culture that weren’t quite expressed in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and so I wanted to show some of the smaller nuances in my own family,” she says.

Set in the bride’s parents’ backyard overlooking Lake Minnetonka, the romantic styled shoot is an ode to Greek culture.

“The rings were passed down generations, and the groom’s ring actually has inscribed Hebrew, showing both cultures coming into one! The dress is from The White Room, a modern dress boutique in Minneapolis that lets individuality shine through the dress. They also provided the wreath-style headpiece,” says Athena. “The table is set with a handmade blanket via the couple’s grandmother. She learned to knit as a young girl in her small Greek village. The flowers are from a local Minneapolis farmer’s market, since Greeks are known for picking their own produce and flowers.”

Thanks so much to Athena for sharing this beautiful shoot with us!
