Lily and Tiago’s Beautiful Bali Beach Wedding

Posted on June 16, 2017 by Kate

California natives Lily and Tiago believe in quality over quantity, so an intimate wedding in Bali, Indonesia with 32 of their closest friends and family suited them to a tee.

“We wanted to have with us on our special moment our closest family and friends – people that really care about us,” Lily said.

Komune Resort and Beach ended up being the perfect location for their intimate wedding.

Kudos to Terralogical for capturing this wedding so beautifully!

    Lily & Tiago

    Location: Bali, Indonesia

    Wedding Date: June 9, 2016

    Number of Guests: 32

Wedding Cost: Hotel wedding package was $10,000 + some extras + photographer etc. in U.S. dollars. Taking into account Bali currency, this averages out to $17,000

Wedding Ceremony Location: Komune Resort and Beach

Wedding Reception Location: Komune Resort and Beach

Why did you choose to have an intimate wedding?

We believe in quality vs quantity, we wanted to have with us on our special moment our closest family and friends, people that really care about us and that is why we chose Bali, even though we live in California.

What are some the challenges that you faced planning an intimate wedding?

Definitely the guest list and making sure people were not hurt for not being invited.

Was it difficult to pare down the guest list?

Not really, we only invited those who are present in our life.

Did you have any “issues” with the small guest list from friends and family? If so, how did you address them?

No, we were able to accommodate everyone that RSVPed.

What were the highlights of the ceremony?

Our vows – very touching and emotive.

What were the highlights of the reception?

Definitely the entertainment, we had fire dancers and a firework show. It was a surprise and everyone was stoked about it.

What was the best thing about having an intimate wedding?

The best thing about having an intimate wedding was to be able to be present to everyone and give attention to the people that made the effort to be there for us.

What advice do you have for couples who are considering an intimate wedding?

If you have a small budget, an intimate wedding is a great way to make your dream come true without going broke. A destination wedding is also a great way to make your wedding intimate because not all your guests will be able to travel and last but not least if you want to be able to connect and give the proper attention to all your guests, an intimate wedding is the way to go!

    DIY Lavender Linen Spray

Posted on June 12, 2017 by McKenna

    lavender linen spray

Did you know that the smell of lavender eases anxiety? And it helps you get a good night’s sleep – leaving you feeling refreshed in the morning. Whether you are looking for something to help you de-stress during wedding planning, or the perfect favor to offer your bridal shower guests, you will love this easy recipe for DIY lavender linen spray.

    You will need:

Amber Glass Spray Bottles, 3.4 Oz (100ml) with Mist Sprayers

100 ml alcohol (we used Gdanski Spirytus Vodka because of its high alcohol content, which helps disperse the essential oil. You can also dilute the mixture with water. Add 50 ml distilled water and 50 ml vodka. If you add water, you will need to shake the mixture before spraying it to help disperse the oil.)

    20 drops Lavender Essential Oil

    A small funnel

    White paper

    Glue stick

Fill your empty spray bottle with 100 ml of vodka using your funnel for a smoother flow.

Add 20 drops of lavender essential oil to your distilled water/alcohol mixture.

Add lid and shake it up. Now you are going to make your labels! We used Canva to create our labels, which we printed on a white piece of paper. Use a glue stick to adhere the label to your bottle. Make sure to smooth out your label so you don’t have bubbles or creases.

And there you have it! Your lavender linen spray is ready for gifting!

    Colorado Desert Elopement Styled Shoot

Posted on June 9, 2017 by Christina

Sure, Colorado is known for the majestic Rocky Mountains, but it also offers sweeping plains and breathtaking high desert landscapes.

This spring desert elopement styled shoot, submitted by Rayna McGinnis, was designed to show off the Colorado desert.

“We actually have a ton of high desert here that complements both spring and fall color palettes beautifully, ” says Rayna.

The shoot incorporates pastel succulents and air plants, to bring together an amazing spring color palette full of greens, blues and pinks. Some highlights include a bridal headpiece created with succulents and air plants dangling down the back, as well as an elopement sign that really says it all.

“I think it would bring a ton of inspiration to couples planning an intimate wedding or elopement in the desert!” says Rayna.

    We couldn’t agree more!
