DIY Wedding Favor Donation Cards

diy wedding favor donation cards

I’m smitten with these DIY wedding favor donation cards that I recently discovered on flickr.

Jasmine created these fantastic little cards for her upcoming July wedding to let her wedding guests know that she  and her sweetie are making a donation to a favorite charity, instead of giving wedding favors.

“When I think about all the weddings I’ve gone to, I seem to remember thinking of favors as silly and frivolous. We were inspired by the last wedding we attended to make an “in lieu of” donation instead, as Nick and I both sponsor children through Compassion Canada,” she says.

Jasmine created mini cards of her engagment photos using www.moo.com

“They come in boxes of 100 for about $20USD and you can customize the back,” she says.

Jasmine, simply punched holes through the cards and placed an eyelet in each hole. She then tied ribbon to each card.

Simple. Lovely.

  2. This is a wonderful idea! I will definitely be doing this, too! Thanks for sharing.

  4. I love this idea. I’m just trying to understand why she used the ribbon. Were these hanging somewhere? At the table or on the way out? Thanks!

  5. Thank you for sharing. I am using the same idea for my wedding in a month. I agree with you, I eventually end up throwing out wedding favors, these are memorable and you are doing something wonderful at the same time.

  6. I absolutely love this idea! I think it’s a great way of sharing the donation information and the pricing is totally reasonable. This would also be fun for other occasions like graduations or big anniversary parties! Thanks for sharing!!

  7. I’ve always loved the favor donation idea, but this is a way for guests to have a little something at their place setting as well. Best of both worlds. Great idea! I love Moo cards :)

  8. just ordered mine! Thanks so much for the idea. We’d been planning on making a donation instead of favors since we got engaged, and they’re perfect for our wedding in a few months. Plus, I won’t have to print them myself!

  9. Love this idea way better than the fold-over type donation cards! Just ordered 100 of these. We featured pictures of our adopted pets on one side, and on the other side mentioned the donation to several local humane socities! What a perfect way to feature our rescued pets AND our favorite local shelters!!

  10. So I just got my moo cards in the mail! I love this idea but ladies please be aware of how small they are!!!

haha I was in shock at how teeny tiny they are. In the picture they look a lot bigger for some reason.

They’re only like 2×3″ big. The dimensions aren’t really shown to you on the website unless you go to FAQs so I didn’t realize. Either way I’m happy with them and think they’re adorable. I was just hoping for a larger picture of us on the one side.

    Cheers!

  11. Thanks for the heads up on the moo cards. I have never ordered them – so that’s good to know.
