Romantic Victoria, BC Farm Styled Shoot

Posted on July 31, 2017 by Christina

Delilah from Summer Rayne Photo sent over this breathtaking styled shoot photographed in Victoria, BC. Here’s what Delilah had to say about the shoot:

This vintage-mixed-with-modern shoot took place at Kildara Farms located in Victoria, BC which is surrounded by enchanting landscapes of our beautiful mountains and lush greenery. The unique separates from Blush Bridal Boutique Victoria give the images a timeless and classic feel with a modern twist. Fresh View Events provided fresh blooms from the garden that complimented the moody atmosphere. All of our decor companies supplied amazing gold and brass details and Tickle Tree Design Studio created a stationery set that went beautifully with the magenta flowers in the bouquet and centrepiece. No matter how beautiful the dessert station, we couldn’t help but mow down a few well deserved macarons at the end of the day! I love bringing talented, like-minded vendors together to create something beautiful and special.

    Renoir Inspired Picnic Styled Shoot

Posted on July 28, 2017 by Christina

Is there anything more romantic than a picnic with your sweetheart in a gorgeous setting? We think not!

The Pittsburgh Botanic Garden provided the dreamy setting for this Renoir-inspired shoot by photographer Dawn Derbyshire. Here’s what Dawn had to say about today’s lovely shoot:

Long before I was a wedding photographer, I was a college student majoring in art history. I eventually abandoned that path to follow my passion, but my love of fine art never faded. Inspired by impressionism and the work of Pierre-Auguste Renoir, I approached the incredibly talented Melissa Crawford of Devoted to You Events. She helped me refine the vision for the shoot, envisioning a laid back, intimate garden wedding with fun floral elements and an easygoing picnic vibe.

The Pittsburgh Botanic Garden provided the perfect backdrop for the session, with a dogwood tree filled meadow surrounded by woods and beautifully landscaped gardens sprinkled through the property. Pairing with greenSinner for florals was one of the highlights of the shoot; they created a beautiful floral hat along with a huge, artfully arranged, statement bouquet that added subtle pops of color in the field surrounded by white dogwood blooms.

The couple, Jessa from the fashion and lifestyle blog Wavy Alabaster and her husband Ben, embraced the feel of the shoot and were the perfect pair for this project. They brought their own love of vintage, with Jessa providing some of the gorgeous accessories and teaming up with Melissa to style the perfect outfit.

greenSinner and Vintage Alley Rentals provided elements of decor and furniture for the shoot, helping add understated bursts of color and pattern, perfectly paired with the bright fruit tray from Matthias Bodnar at Matthias Bodnar of Bistro to Go. In lieu of a cake or dessert, we created a little cheese wheel cake, perfect for a intimate picnic. To go with the heaping, Victorian-inspired fruit tray and cheese wheels, the place cards were baguettes wrapped in custom monogrammed vellum bands from Fresh Cut Prints. Erin from Fresh Cut Prints also hand made paper filled with dried flower petals that she printed the invitation suite on, along with pulling the art inspiration to the envelope liners and Renoir quote that helped inspire our overall vision for the day.

    Organic Industrial Chic Styled Shoot

Posted on July 24, 2017 by Christina

Today’s gorgeous California styled shoot, submitted by Seniya from Diamond Bridal Gallery and photographed by Anna Perevertaylo, combines elements of minimalism with organic style and industrial chic design.

Here’s what Seniya had to say about the shoot:

Overall the look isn’t crowded and there is room to breathe. The rentals were simple and imperfect. Ashley, my wonderful calligrapher did a wonderful job keeping the paper goods simple and clean. Apart from the venue having the industrial look, I incorporated that element through the metal pieces of furniture. The metals ranged from bronze, gold, silver, copper and brass. My talented make up artist Elona was able to perfectly tie the mixed metals into the makeup which I was really happy about!

My choice of linen for the sweetheart table was a soft, breathable and textured fabric that organically rested on the floor. I gave the napkins a tossed look to give the table an additional relaxed element. Continuing with the organic style, my amazing florists created natural garden style arrangements that perfectly tied into the shoot. The bride’s dress and hair also reflected that effortless and laid back look.

The cake artists also blew me away with how perfectly they combined the organic look, mixed metal idea, minimalism and industrialism.

Basically, I had the ultimate dream team and a photographer who captured this fun and beautiful day so well. I always say, beautiful things happen outside of your comfort zone. But also, beautiful things happen when artists come together.
