Real Wedding: Kate and Alexander’s Enchanting British Columbia Wedding

Posted on June 3, 2013 by Riata

If we were going to describe Kate and Alexander’s wedding in one word, we would say “magical”. Everything from their intimate guest list to the floating lanterns they released after their reception gives their wedding an air of enchantment, which is exactly what bride Kate was hoping for.

One of the most magical moments for Kate wasn’t one that she had planned:

“Right as our officiant announced us as husband and wife, this amazing misty rain started to fall. Talk about timing! The rain continued on and off for a couple of hours and our photographers were able to capture some amazing images,” Kate said.

The Nickersons photographed Kate and Alexander’s mystical wedding to perfection.

Vintage Wedding Find: Pink Depression Glass

Posted on May 30, 2013 by Riata

You’ve probably heard of Depression glass, but do you know its history?

As you probably assumed from its name, Depression glass originated during the Great Depression, and was used as a customer incentive program. Local restaurants and movie theaters, and even large distributors like the Quaker Oats Company handed out Depression glass for free to encourage customers to purchase their product (think cereal box prize, but on a larger scale).

As the years have passed since the Depression, the glass has slowly passed from a cheap novelty item into vintage chic, and value has increased with the demand. These days, Depression glass is a gorgeous way to bring a little history to your wedding, whether by utilizing a family member’s collection, or hunting down pieces of your own. Did we mention that it comes in pink?

Custom-Designed Wedding Stationery for DIY Brides

Posted on May 28, 2013 by Brittny

Save-the-dates and invitations are the first glimpse that guests have into your special day, setting the scene for the memorable day to come (no pressure, right?). But the wonderful world of pretty paperie can be overwhelming for couples trying to wind their way through flat vs. letterpress, rustic vs. vintage styles, matte vs. shimmer paper …

Which is why we love seeing stationery boutiques, like The Memory Trunk, going back to the basics and holding brides’ hands through the heavy decision-making process.

Not only does the owner, Tricia, have a slew of styles to choose from in her Etsy shop with the latest trends like laser cut, pocket folds, and bold fonts, but she can turn your vision (no matter how detailed it may be) into a stunning custom job without the hefty price tag. And for all of those crafty DIY brides out there, she even has the option of sending a PDF of your design so you can print in the comfort of your own home.

Want to have your invites signed, sealed, and delivered in style? All Intimate Wedding brides can enter code “INTIMATE2013” to get 10 percent off their stationery suite order from The Memory Trunk.
