    Dazzling Downtown Charleston Styled Elopement

Posted on November 26, 2018 by Christina

Today’s breathtaking Charleston, SC styled shoot at Upstairs at Midtown might just have you scrapping your traditional wedding plans, and opting for a sexy elopement with just you and your S.O.

Here’s what photographer Jessica Smith from The Smiths had to say about the shoot:

We wanted to put together a simple, romantic, authentic elopement that could show couples they don’t just have to go to the courthouse steps. It can be just the two of them and still be incredibly special.

Roadside Blooms‘ incredible eye for flowers … set the tone for the intimate feel of the day. Insert Lovecraft Events‘ eye for the final touches of pulling it together and we had our styled elopement. As the photographer, I felt so lucky to photograph a real couple, pull out their natural love for each other, and give them images of a fun afternoon of them just being them.

Jamie and Terence’s Elegant Intimate Wedding in Ohio

Posted on November 19, 2018 by Christina

Simple, beautiful and heartfelt, Jamie and Terence’s wedding at the Wildwood Manor House just might inspire you to scrap your large wedding plans and opt for an intimate wedding.

Thanks to Lindsay from Luckybird Photography for capturing this wonderful wedding.

    Jamie, 32 & Terence,44

    Location: Toledo, OH

    Wedding Date: July 28, 2018

    Number of Guests: 19

    Wedding Cost: ~ $25,000

Wedding Ceremony Location: The Wildwood Manor House at Wildwood Metro Park in Toledo, OH

Wedding Reception Location: The Wildwood Manor House at Wildwood Metro Park in Toledo, OH

Why did you have an intimate wedding?

We have small families and wanted to be able to spend time with everyone who was in attendance.

What are some the challenges that you faced planning an intimate wedding?

Finding a venue that was not too large.

Was it difficult to pare down the guest list?

Nope! We knew who we wanted to be there.

Did you have any ‘issues’ with the small guest list from friends and family? If so, how did you address them?

I think some members of our family thought we would have more people there, but were okay with those who were in attendance

What were the highlights of the ceremony?

Our officiant was personable and funny. He took the time to get to know us and made sure the messaging matched our personalities. Our daughters also had readings during the ceremony, which was nice to have them included.

What were the highlights of the reception?

The food was delicious. It was also easy to talk to everyone and enjoy their company.

What was the best thing about having an intimate wedding?

The best thing about having an intimate wedding was that we were able to visit with everyone there and it was easy to bring the night to a close.

What advice do you have for couples who are considering an intimate wedding?

You don’t have to have a giant wedding to have a memorable experience. Having an intimate wedding also means that you can be a little pickier about your vendors and food. Since the scale is smaller, you might be able to splurge a little on things that might be cost prohibitive with a larger group.
