    The Palette of Palm Springs

Posted on February 5, 2014 by Christina

Palm Springs, California is the perfect place to tie the knot – especially if you have a penchant for Mid-Century Modern design.

During a recent press trip hosted by Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism, Darin and I had the opportunity to explore Palm Springs and many of its venues. What we discovered is that Mid-Century modern design is everywhere; in fact, aside from the gorgeous sunshine and the striking desert backdrop, it’s what gives the location it’s distinct personality and appeal. Palm Springs has one of best-preserved concentrations of modernist architecture in the world. It really is a living museum of another time; the glamorous and sophisticated California of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s.

Another insight we gained as we we roamed the streets, shops and venues is that Palm Springs does not do beige! What is the palette of Palm Springs?

5 Reasons to Get Married in Palm Springs

Posted on February 4, 2014 by Christina

    palm springs weddings

What comes to your mind when you think of Palm Springs? Palm Trees? Sunshine? Movie Stars? Of course! But Palm Springs is so much more. Palm Springs is fun, free-spirited and full of life. It’s a place where self-expression and creativity is celebrated. And it’s the perfect place to tie the knot!

During a recent press trip hosted by Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism, Darin and I had the opportunity to explore Palm Springs to find out why it’s such a fab destination to tie the knot.

We experienced local cuisine, shopped at hip boutiques,  and toured heaps of amazing wedding venues. It was our first time in California, so we were in awe the moment we felt the warm sun on our backs!

Which brings us to the first reason you should get married in Palm Springs:

Real Weddings: Meggie and Adam’s Collingwood Golf Club Wedding

Posted on February 3, 2014 by Gaelan

Even though Meggie and Adam went to high school together, according to Adam, Meggie was too cool for school to give him the time of day. Fast forward 10 years later and they are now husband and wife and, we think you’ll agree, pretty much the cutest couple ever!

Decked out in a fantastic J. Crew wedding dress and a dapper Zara suit, respectively, Meggie and Adam were wed last August in an intimate wedding in their hometown of Collingwood. Meggie enlisted the help of her nine siblings to pull off all the details of the big day  – from baking the cakes to painting the favors – making the whole thing a family affair and a truly fabulous one at that.

A huge thank you to A Brit & A Blonde for sharing all the wonderful photos with us.

    Colorful Wedding Shoes

Posted on January 31, 2014 by Giselle

Colorful wedding shoes are a thing for 2014. A big thing.

Unlike previous years, when shoes were meant to blend in with the wedding gown, shoes are now a fun way to add self-expression to a bridal ensemble. If you are a shoe fiend, that’s great news? Why? Now you have the perfect excuse to go shopping! After all, you’re much more likely to wear your favorite colored heels after your wedding than a white pair!

Heavy Metals: Copper, Brass, and Bronze Wedding Inspiration

Posted on January 30, 2014 by Gaelan

Metallics dominated the wedding scene in 2013, and while there’s no sign of that trend slowing down any time soon, it looks like the bright and shiny golds and silvers of the last couple of years are making way for warmer, darker, and more matte metallics – enter copper, brass and bronze.

Warm rosy hues, dark earthy shades, and rich golden tones, characterize these metallics and while they don’t have the same glitz as gold, we think they’re going to be hot for 2014.
